Realise - our EdTwestival 2011 Headline Sponsors

March 23rd, 2011 Comment

One of the reasons Realise were keen to sponsor this year’s Edinburgh Twestival was that it brings people together away from the keyboard (not ‘in real life’, we all know that the internet is real). People who share an interest in a (relatively) new technical and social phenomena: Twitter.

Realise have been through this before. Back in 1994 we opened the first internet café in Scotland: Cyberia on Hanover Street. Bringing students, geeks and business-people together, all of whom had an interest in the then relatively new ‘Internet-thing’.

Pretty soon we had businesses, like Standard Life and the Scotsman, asking us for ‘one of those websites’. We quickly outgrew the café, and have grown over the years to be one of the UK’s biggest digital agencies.

And that brings us to the real reason we’re interested in sponsoring this year’s Edinburgh Twestival – other than our big-hearted altruism.

We’ve got offices in London, New York and Edinburgh. We work with Channel 4, Lloyds Bank, Nikon and dozens of the UK’s biggest companies. We’re constantly on the lookout for great new account managers, designers and developers to help us continue to grow. We want you to come and talk to us.

So, hopefully by sponsoring this year’s Edinburgh Twestival, we can go some way to letting you all know we’re here. If you see us on the night, come and say hello (or tweet us at @realisetweets – it’s all the same to us).

And if you’re looking for a job, get in touch and we can meet up for a chat and a drink. We still make a pretty good cup of coffee.

What does sponsoring Twestival mean to bigmouthmedia?

March 23rd, 2011 Comment
We like sponsoring Edinburgh's Twestival.  There's always demand from bigmouths in Edinburgh for us to step up and get involved each year.  In fact, Twestival manages to energise staff in ways different to our other Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. I'm not saying CSR is dull or lacks staff investment... I'm saying that Twestival manages to be uniquely social. It also manages to be local while tremendously global at the same time. This is impressive stuff.
In their own words, here's a sample of what actual bigmouths have to say about our sponsorship of Twestival.
"Not only am I going to be at Twestival as a bigmouth, I'm also going to be performing as part of Matt Norris & the Moon. It's great to see Bigmouth supporting the local Edinburgh community and being a part of Twestival." - David Law
"It's great to be able to support Twestival and this year's charity St Columba's Hospice. The charity does such fantastic work and I'm pleased we're able to contribute to their fund raising" - Wendy Rees
"Edinburgh is full of great digital and creative talent so I'm delighted to see bigmouthmedia sponsoring an event that brings everyone together to raise money for a good cause. The collaborative process behind Edinburgh Twestival, from organizing the venue and designing the logo to selling the tickets, has been a real inspiration and it's great to know that we at BMM are doing our bit to help." - Jodi Mullen
'Fantastic event ran by fantastic people for a fantastic cause. What more could you ask for?" - Mark Boyd
"Sponsoring EdTwestival means that we are able togive a little back and raise money for a fantastic charity, whilst having a lot of fun and meeting friends old and new." - Chris Cathcart
"Twestival is a fantastic way of connecting people all over the world with one mission in mind -  to raise lots of money for Charity!" - Fraser Hinsley
"Sponsoring EdTwestival will hopefully mean lots of cup cakes in the office the next day. Look, I did my quote in much less than 140 characte" - Richard Falconer
"I always enjoy Twestival, the people are always fun and money raised is used wisely. This year I'm especially pleased that we're supporting St Columba's Hospice" - Leanne Rinning
Just a social, Twitter friendly, summary into what sponsoring Twestival again means to us. Hope to see you there! - Bigmouthmedia

Streetcar Car Club - sponsors of EdTwestival 2011

March 23rd, 2011 Comment
We’re happy to announce that Streetcar (www.streetcar.co.uk), Edinburgh’s newest (and the UK’s largest) pay-as-you-go car club, are sponsoring the EdTwestival 2011.

With a fleet of Polos, Golfs and BMWs across the city, and available to rent by the hour (including petrol and mileage), Streetcar offers Edinburgh access to an affordable, flexible and convenient car club service which is transforming the way both local residents and businesses are getting about.

To celebrate the expansion of our service we saw no better way than to get involved with the EdTwestival 2011, and help support such a great cause as St Columbas Hospice who are making a huge difference to the lives of the local community.

To achieve this we have happily donated 3 prizes for the raffle on the night, 2 free annual memberships and 1 free annual membership, a BMW 1 Series for the weekend and unlimited mileage!!

Make sure you get your tickets for the night and enter the raffle for a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes and raise money for St Columba’s Hospice. For those that miss out we will also have a generous membership discount for all @EdTwestival followers to join the club:

Half price membership and £30 driving credit, just register at www.streetcar.co.uk and quote "EdTwest"

We look forward to seeing you on the night!
