One of the reasons Realise were keen to sponsor this year’s Edinburgh Twestival was that it brings people together away from the keyboard (not ‘in real life’, we all know that the internet is real). People who share an interest in a (relatively) new technical and social phenomena: Twitter.

Realise have been through this before. Back in 1994 we opened the first internet café in Scotland: Cyberia on Hanover Street. Bringing students, geeks and business-people together, all of whom had an interest in the then relatively new ‘Internet-thing’.

Pretty soon we had businesses, like Standard Life and the Scotsman, asking us for ‘one of those websites’. We quickly outgrew the café, and have grown over the years to be one of the UK’s biggest digital agencies.

And that brings us to the real reason we’re interested in sponsoring this year’s Edinburgh Twestival – other than our big-hearted altruism.

We’ve got offices in London, New York and Edinburgh. We work with Channel 4, Lloyds Bank, Nikon and dozens of the UK’s biggest companies. We’re constantly on the lookout for great new account managers, designers and developers to help us continue to grow. We want you to come and talk to us.

So, hopefully by sponsoring this year’s Edinburgh Twestival, we can go some way to letting you all know we’re here. If you see us on the night, come and say hello (or tweet us at @realisetweets – it’s all the same to us).

And if you’re looking for a job, get in touch and we can meet up for a chat and a drink. We still make a pretty good cup of coffee.
